Simon on the Blogwagon

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

I've become disenchanted with the blog lifestyle. Too much hate mail. Too many emails from people telling me i have a small penis. Though the fan mail is good and the offers to sell me a cheap Rolex's are flattering. I think I'm going to put my blog in for re-tooling.

Just a quick one. When i used "blogwagon" in my title i thought i was being original and slightly clever. It turns out i wasn't. It features in the urban dictionary and even on Jon Stewert. It gets 35300 hits on google.

France Ultimately Can't Know Italy's Talent And Lost Yesterday.
A disapointing result in the end but what can you expect if your mum is an error-pissed bore or whatever the english lip reader with the help of an italian translator claims the italian said to the frenchman.

Anyway, in an attempt to increase my blog hit counter which is looking a little sad, though it is based on the number of different people who check out the page and not the number of hits, but in an attempt to increase the hits I'm getting i think i need some sort or theme to the blog, i know that all the big blogs have some sort of theme. Like writting about all the ladies you slept with but I'm modest and don't have the time to update every day, so I'm taking suggestions, so please comment.

I haven't updated in a bit cause i haven't done much in the last week, besides work which when you do it for 5 days straight is actually not much fun. But before i started that huge marathon of earning potential, which i'm actually only 4 days into, i went home for the weekend which was good, got to see the whole family, well actually only Mum and Sister, and although they were great and all the highlight of the trip was definitely watching the Kendall Blues play in the local Rugby League Pub Competition which was in one word hilarious, It was like a modern day Keystone Kops. Its been a while since I've seen a game that i thought i could actually play in. Quite a day out.

Worst Movie i've seen in a while
Superman, It really limits a movie when the hero just does his stuff for a while before until Lex works up a plan that incorporates Kryptonite which Superman eventually overcomes and it only takes 2 and a half hours.

Best Movie i've seen in a while
Stay Hungry, Arnie playing a fiddle was enough to make this his best performance ever and I'm not alone on this one the Hollywood Foreign Press agreed and awarded him a Golden Globe. One Word, Pure Genius.

Most Undeserved Oscar
Peter Zinner for Deer Hunter, a 3 hour movie that could have been 90 minutes. Cutting down the opening hour dance scene, the 45 minutes when he comes back from the war to when he decides to go back for his mate for example though as much blame should go to the director but he also won and oscar and i said Most Undeserved Oscar not Oscars.

Best Album at the Moment
Uncut Music Magazine Playlist Album for June 2006. $10 for a Mag and a Great CD, bargain.
In particular Daniel Johnston's song The Beatles. See left. The designer of the shirt, not the deceased singer.

Hero of the Week
Zinedine Zidane, doing what Lucas Neill should have done, then at least the penalty would have been deserved. I hold grudges for a while.

Loser of the Week
David Trezeguet, missed the penalty and he didn't even seem that disapointed.

Bitch of the Week
They need to make a rule where no word has double letters for example Disapointed, or is it Dissapointed, Disappointed, Dissappointed, they need a clear cut rule or at the very least a little jingle to remember stuff by, like the "i before e except after c or when sounding like ay as in Neighbour or Weigh", though i do remember parallel because the 2 l's are parallel but i had to work that one out myself.

Oh, and by the way there is a hidden message in the first line about how i actually feel about the World Cup Final.

We Did it. Took him to 3rd last. Australian of the Year award here i come.

Oleksandr IATSENKO (UKR) 0% 257
Bohdan SHUST (UKR) 0% 248
Blerim DZEMAILI (SUI) 0% 230

Tuesday, July 04, 2006

Ok, I been feeling bad for young Oleksandr IATSENKO in the young player of the world cup poll with only 202 votes, we as a people have to lift him off the bottom and above Bohdan SHUST who i've heard from my sources is actually, and i have to tread carefully here due to legal concerns, i've heard he is a therapist without the theory, and you wouldn't want to support a therapist if you know what i mean.
Anyway, vote now and vote proud.

PS Happy Canadia Day for July 1

Monday, July 03, 2006

Its been a week since i last posted but thats just cause if i'd posted earlier when i was still getting over the world cup farce half the posts would have been expletives and anti-Italian rants and i wouldn't want that, i like the Italians, i like their food, i like their women, who cares if they cheat and play the most boring football i've been unfortunite enough to watch. But enough of that, i've moved on and i hope we all can. On the upside there is a lot more leg-room on the bandwagon now.

Most Overated Movie of the Year:
X-men 3. Sorry Dan but it was nowhere near as good as the first 2. I ended up falling asleep and missed the end, though i did see the part after the credits and to save people having to wait to the end of the long, long credits. SPOILER ALERT Prof. Xavier isn't dead, after watching Patrick Stewart in Extras its hard to take him too seriously these days.

Best Movie Trailer I've seen in Ages:
Brick, check it out

The week in sport:
Football: Go Portugal! picked them at the start to win the cup when they were playing $26 and should have put a tenner on them but are now down to $6.50 and betting on them now would be more annoying then anything, though thats still good odds considering.
Watching England fail again is fun though, the English have got to realise that they really aren't that good and that even if they considered themselves as equally as good as the Brazilians, French, Spanish, Dutch, Argentinians, Italians, Germans, Portuguese then they only have a one in eight chance of winning anyway and making the final eight is about right, plus Rooney is a psycho chav so its funny to see him fail. I'm a little sadistic.
Tennis: Hewitt can't win cause Federer is too good even if he makes it to the final, how annoying must it be for him having lost in 8 of the last 9 majors he has played in to the eventual champion.
League: Benji who? We don't need him, he's been hogging all the limelight winning all the games for us, setting up all the tries. Actually i think we will be alright, the loss to the Dogs is more to do with Hodgeson being out i feel, Now paying $26 at the TAB, not quite the $150 we were paying last year but good value.
NBA: The draft was on the other day and it has to have been the least interesting draft in years, unlike the Lebron year with him, Anthony and Wade all being good, i don't know if it will happen this year or there will be a good chance the best player was drafted well down and be like when MJ went at 3, but not as bad.
F1: Webber has to be the unluckiest driver ever, whenever theres a crash he is taken out and if he's not his engine blows up.

Great music for the week:
Death from Above 1979, a 2 piece band consisting of a drummer and bass guitarist, though they play the opposite of drum and bass. Very fast, rock punk ish. Check them out.

Hero of the week:
I couldn't think of a hero so using google i found the first person listed under hero of the week and it goes to Nathan E
who "is dedicated to his work and fmaily (sic). He is a proud father of two from a previous marriege (sic) and is very dedicated to his military work. He has given up many many months to serve for his country while haveing (sic) to make the biggest sacrifice by leaving his children behind.... We love him and want everyone to know how much of a hero he truely (sic) is in our eyes!!" not just your eyes Miss E, but now the eyes of my avid (sic) readers.

Loser of the week:
First lets take a look back at last weeks entry
"Loser of the Week:
More then a week but every ref that we had in the group stage and if i know those Italians as well as i think I'm sure they're rigging the next game as we speak."
I don't want to say I'm psychic but who'd i'd be kidding.
Ok, so i couldn't go past this part without mentioning the ref for the Australia v Italy game, Mr Luis Medina Cantalejo. I have come to a point where i don't care about the Italian guy who cheated because thats the way the games played and he was doing what was best for his country, it should have been the ref who saw it and either called play on or called him for 'simulation'. I always wonder who came up with that term for diving.

I think I'm going to change from trying to write a big entry once a week to multiple small entries more regularly.
